Different Kitchen Flooring Ideas

The kitchen in the house I inherited is in sore need of remodeling. The tiles are faded, chipped, and cracked in some places and the decision was to tear the old ones up and just have a new kitchen flooring installed. It might be an expensive move, but we have a 21-month old and it’s not safe for her to be walking around cracked tiles. Since the kitchen floor space is not very large I decided to look for different kitchen flooring ideas. I wanted to see what kind of flooring materials we could use that would make the kitchen more appealing and still be safe for a wandering toddler to walk around in.

Among the more common kitchen flooring materials are ceramic tiles, glass tiles, laminates, natural stones, vinyl, and wood. Glass tiles and ceramic tiles are pretty expensive so that was out of the options list real quick. Natural stones seemed like a good idea but since there was a baby to consider, uneven flooring might not be a wise choice. (Although we wanted to add natural stone flooring to the outside kitchen where we did all the grilling and fish cleaning stuff.) That being said, we finally decided on wooden kitchen flooring as it was affordable, safe, easy to clean and maintain.
